Busy day for tomorrow. I need to go to Rural King and buy some wood fuel pellets — about a dozen bags — and then home. I have started shooting video for an unboxing video I’ve working on. I’m unboxing my new Yukon 9-drawer toolbox from Harbor Freight.
Depsite the fact its white in color and doesn’t match my existing blue one, its going to be a nice addition to the garage. I’m going to replace the 40-year-old Craftsman toolbox I’ve had forever, and actually used in my body shop all those years ago too.
In addition to the Craftsman tool box (see photo at right), I also had a set of four upright military lockers that came to my parents’ house via my Uncle Roy. He retired from the Kentucky National Guard, and the stuff he brought home to his own garage would have certainly impressed Mr. Wizard. Anyway, in my body shop, I installed shelves in the lockers and used them for storage of paint, sandpaper and all sorts of supplies and air tools.

The lockers worked great and one of these days I want to unearth them from the old garage and move them into the shop or perhaps the barn, one or the other.
The lower chest on the Craftman toolbox was good, but that open bottom part was useless space that should have been a single, very dep drawer. If I had the materials, I would make a drawer to fit in that space. I’m probably going to offer the tool box to my daughter Katie.
I have the new tool box about halfway assembled, leaving only one set of casters left to install. I think I’ll get those on tomorrow.
I may skip the BK meeting tomorrow. I really want to get this video completed. In addition to assembly, I need to move a shelf unit out of the way to make room for the new tool box. That’s going to take some time to unload, move and then reload.
I still have my rather lengthy to-do list on the 55 wagon to tackle, and that’s next. The driver’s side door is job No. 1.
I still need to remove the 2-inch drop blocks from the rear suspension. I’ll try to stay optimistic, but something tells me that removing those won’t give me much improvement on the under car clearance. I really thinking that I’m going to wind up buy a pair of ram’s horn exhaust manifolds and having new exhaust installed, making sure to keep it tucked up onder the car more than the existing exhaust.
Since I’ve rehabbed the passenger door, it shouldn’t take me as long to do the driver’s door. That’s my hope ane expectation.
Right now, the ground around the house is still coated with several inches of ice and snow. There’s a large pile of ice stacked up at the side door to the shop, some of which has slid off the roof. I’ll be happy when things thaw, which may be in the next week or so.
I’ve got to head to Rural King tomorrow to buy more fuel pellets, so wish me luck. Hopefully I’ll get back home in time for some garage time. Wish me luck on that, lol!
