I spent the afternoon trying to remove the old cheap-ass trio of gauges from my 55 wagon and replacing it with the Autometer 3-gauge panel with larger 2-5/8 inch gauges.

The panel is nice and chrome, but i need to mount it under the dash, under the glove compartment. I was trying to drill mounting holes and broke my drill bit. I have to still drill a couple of appropriately placed mounting holes for the bezel. And because of where the holes in the bezel are located. I am going to have to mount the bezel in place without a gauge — I’ll have to add them to the bezel once its mounted.

So Thursday, I have to get some short mounting bolts and lockwashers I can use to mount the bezel.

Once the bezel is mounted, the only tricky park about the gauges will be the mounting screws. But even that shouldn’t be a tough row to hoe. I have already had the oil pressure gauge hooked up and it looks and works great.

I have an appointment with my therapist tomorrow afternoon, so that may interrupt my work on the gauges.

G’nite until tomorrow afternoon!
