I’m still working to get my 55 wagon’s window regulator removed from the driver’s door. I’m down to just one stuck, nearly stripped out mounting screw on the regulator that I — so far — have been unable to get to budge. On Sunday, I soaked it with Kroil (again) and will try heat and my impact driver tomorrow. I’m at the point where I’m ready to simply take a grinder and grind off the head of that final screw.

I’ve decided that since this is my window regulator on the driver’s side, I’m going to spring for a new reproduction regulator. I’ll also buy a new track.
Frankly, even if I grind the head off that last screw, three would hold it just fine I believe. But I want the window to crank like new; I made the mistake of not replacing (or completely rebuilding) the passenger side regulator, and it doesn’t operate smoothly.
I have to order a regulator and track this week, but I have the rest of the parts I’ll need. The wing vent vertical track is rusty as hell, so I’ll need to do a little rehab on that. I also found on Mutton Hollow that they have the appropriate rivets that will work to reconnect the vertical track and the U-shaped wing vent track.
Tomorrow I have a candidate debate to attend, staring at 6 p.m. Its going to last until 9 p.m. I expect. A long evening of hearing candidates talk. A second debate night is next Monday, the 30th.
Apparently, the Democrats are not having a debate for their candidates; not sure why not. We have three D’s running for judge executive in the primary, youl would think that the Democratic party would find a way to have their candidates featured.
One big surprise is that one of the coroner candiddates who was supposed to be featured in a debate has opted to skip the debate. Not the wisest move, considering he’s facing an incumbent who has really made a name for herself over the past 3-1/2 years.
